Wondering About Faith

The essence of the Christian faith can be summed up in one word: LOVE. The scriptures say that it was because of love that God sent Jesus into the world to die for our mistakes. When asked about the most important thing to do in this world, Jesus said we should love God and love each other. He said everything that is written in the entire Bible is summed up in these two things.

And the good news for us is that the God who created us and everything in the universe is not a God who wants to hold our mistakes against us. He is not a God who demands that we carry out a specific, complicated set of actions to please him. And he is not a God who is angry. In fact, the Bible says that God, the real God, the God who created everything including you, is full of compassion, slow to get angry and abounding in love. And what he wants from us is simply this: that we truly love Him and other people, and that we prove it by our actions.

Because of Jesus' death on the cross and resurrection from the grave, we are promised that we can live the life that we were created to live simply by choosing to live a life of love. And he promises that he will erase and forget our mistakes, not because we deserve it, but because of his great love for us.

For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.
