TEACHING RECAP

Summary: We all need help in various ways, but often we don’t want anyone to tell us what to do. In today’s passage, Jesus identifies himself as the singular answer to life’s ultimate questions. How will we respond to his claims?

Main Points:

  1. CLAIMS. Instead of denying the accusations, Jesus makes even more audacious claims.

  2. EVIDENCE. Jesus supports his claims with three sources of testimony.

  3. INVITATION. Jesus wants to save us, and urges us not to reject his gift.

On-Ramps:

  • What are your answers to the ultimate questions of our world and your life?

  • What do you believe about Jesus’ claims, and how are you responding to them?

  • If you are a follower of Jesus, is your relationship with Jesus the central reality of your life?

Discussion

  • What stands out to you from this passage? How does this passage most challenge or encourage you?

  • WORD: As we begin to see Jesus revealing who He is, what is His life teaching you about who God is? Where does Jesus challenge, refine, or compliment how you view God?

  • WORLD: Jesus provides three different forms of evidence to substantiate His life and connection with the Father. How does the testimony of others, the works of His life, and the testimony of Scripture help us engage those today who don’t know Jesus?

  • LIVES: What evidence in your life speaks of Jesus being THE Way, THE Truth, and THE Life?

  • How do you want to respond to this passage in your daily life?

PRAYER

  • How can we pray for you as a group?

  • Next week: Philippians 4:4-9
